Seismic Event Monitoring
Eyasco integrates sensors to detect Earthen movement
This project takes place on a ranch where river water is diverted through canals for irrigation and reservoir storage. The diverted water is closely monitored and recorded by our QuB systems.
In 2015, the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) contracted Eyasco Inc. to install its EmbankNET system at several dam sites which are designed to read vibrating wire piezometers (VWP) and in-place inclinometers (IPI).
These systems are a vital component of SCVWD’s Dam Safety Program, providing crucial data during and after rainstorms and seismic events. Reports can be generated on a scheduled, user-initiated, and seismic-triggered.
Seismic Detection
In the event of an earthquake, seismic triggers initiate higher sampling periods, and the data is forwarded to SCVWD headquarters via a satellite modem which is stored and managed by Eyasco’s Merlin software. These battery-powered systems communicate via radio and are equipped with a 30-watt unbreakable solar panel.
A suite of reports are available can cab be used to evaluate sensor data, system performance and ensuring compliance with California State DSOD reporting requirements.
